As far as I'm concerned, change nothing! I am enthralled with your Substack just the way it is, and have never felt like there's something you could do better to make me like it more.
In terms of topics, I would be interested to hear your take on ChatGPT and what society looks like when even a computer programmer feels like they might be at risk of losing their job. I'm going to post a book review in a week or two of the "The Great Rupture." Here's a quote that's stood out,
"Over the next decade or two, almost all occupations will experience a sinking feeling of declining functionality and marginal pricing power. However, even that will not be the end of the story, as doctors, lawyers, educators, composers, and writers will also be swept into the same maelstrom of irrelevance. By the time a truck driver or a PhD in computer science feel that their contribution is eroding, it is doubtful that there will be any other jobs that will still be available for them."
At any rate, I look forward to reading your work in 2023.
Discovered your Substack with "The Hypocrisy of Elites", which made me think about things for weeks! I changed my attitude toward some things and how I think about others.
The most influential insights always caught me by surprise from places I wouldn't expect. I don't have topic requests, would love to read about anything u find interesting. The only humble ask - quality over quantity.
I've just listened to both episodes of MoZ and liked the second episode much more (I was probably one of the two listeners 😉). I can learn about SBF from "the worlds's best moderator" but never thought that you now can't portray a positive character building "an empire".
Thank you for the work, and looking forward to new ideas this year!
This was one of the best Substacks I discovered this year! My favorite post of yours are: The Current Thing (series), How Free Speech Leads to Moral Progress, We’re More Christian Than You Think, and Starting a Company is Less Risky Than You think.
I particularly enjoy it when you write about venture capital, culture, and religion. I think you’re extremely inquisitive, a deep thinker, and incredible writer. Im looking forward to reading more posts on here next year and I’m excited about the podcasts you’re creating 🚀
Were the conflicts we see today (societal, political, global, etc) inevitable as part of historical cyclical patterns, or were these situations preventable?
