There is no Christianity without Christ. He left no room for doubt. He claimed to be the Son of God, and God himself. That was the primary reason why the Pharisees sought to kill him. Trying to emulate Christ’s morals while missing the point of him coming to die for our sins to save us from hell is like admiring the label of a bottle of vintage wine while never drinking from it.
